Another Breakfast done! Today the CKTV Media Productions Class had it's annual Breakfast Fundraiser in the Chiefess Cafeteria. This is one of our giant fundraisers that we do to help us travel and this year we are traveling to Orlando, Florida to attend STN (Student Television Network) where we compete, go to break out sessions, meet new people, and learn lots of stuff. Florida is sooo far away, so this fundraiser will help us a lot when it comes time to pay for everything. I would say that we had a great turn out this year. It was kind of slow at first but, once the entertainment came, so did all the people. At one point, the line to pick up breakfast was out the door! We served rice, eggs, Portuguese sausage, ham, fruit, miso soup, coffee, juice, and water. We charged $10 for a breakfast which seems like a lot for a breakfast but it included our service which is the best part. There was also a bake sale with yummy foods, lucky tickets to win a two night stay at the Hyatt, a Gopro, TV, and so much more.  Everyone walked out the door with a smile on their faces. I think it was a great breakfast this year, and it's also my last.

We have had our iPads for a couple of weeks now and we’ve had some time to play around with it. I found out about a new trick where you can put your apps in alphabetical order! I’m not a big fan of having my apps in folders but, we have so many apps on our iPads! So now with them in alphabetical order they will be easier to find. To make them in alphabetical order, go into settings and then general. Next, go into reset (don’t worry, it won’t reset your whole iPad!) and choose ” Reset Home Screen Layout”. It will ask you if you want to reset or cancel so press reset. It will then put all the default apps like the camera, contacts, iTunes, messages, etc. first and then it will set the rest of your apps in alphabetical order. So I think this is great if you have lots of apps and don’t like to use folders. It’s another way to keep your apps organized, so go ahead and give it a try!

Hey everyone! I’m Leanna Thesken and this is my media blog where I will post 2 blogs a week, one that is an assigned topic, and one that we can write about anything and everything we want! You might be wondering what grade I’m in (or maybe not) well, I am in 8th grade and this is my third year in media! It seems like it was just yesterday when I was a little sixth grader new to media barely having a clue on what I was doing. This year, it’s different because all of us 8th graders are the leaders. So this year I look forward to competing at STN! STN stands for student television network where students from all over the country compete. This year STN is in Orlando, Florida! That’s like 5000 miles away from Kauai! I’m excited for STN because as 8th graders we get to be the “head editors”, we get to choose the topic we want to do for sweet 16, and we get learn lots of new things! As you can tell, I’m very excited for this year! I’m not only thrilled for STN but, I’m looking forward to everything else in this school year  .
